2014 : Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences began laboratory cultivation, domestication, and field trials of Hainan Tiger milk mushroom (a rare medicinal mushroom native to Hainan’s rainforests).
2019 : The first semi-wild cultivation trial for Hainan Tiger milk mushroom was launched in Yacha Town, Baisha County, Hainan Province.
2022: Hainan Baisha Biotechnology Co., Ltd., in partnership with local authorities, established a standardized cultivation base. Using a “government-enterprise-village collective” collaboration model, they expanded fungal culture packet planting techniques.
2025 (Projected): Cultivation areas for Hainan Tiger milk mushroom are expected to exceed 15,000 mu (~2,470 acres), centered in Baisha and extending to multiple regions across Hainan.
